The Great Lakes State Clothing Now Available at Carson’s!

December 12, 2017

By popular demand, a curated collection of products from The Great Lakes State are now available in eighteen of the Carson’s Department Store located across Michigan. Locations will carry select items from collections, including: Ink Detroit, I Love Michigan, The Great Lakes State and more. Don’t be surprised when you see the esteemed Buffalo Plaid sweatshirt strategically positioned on a clothing rack near you, and just in time for the holidays. What better way to say “I represent” the greatest of the Midwestern states than with Great Lakes regional apparel, a true symbol of your regional pride. We’re just making it easier for you to rightfully love your respective Great Lake State, and without judgment!

“Those of us who are born and bred in The Great Lake State gravitate to the products and the brand(s). The collections are designed to celebrate the Great Lakes for all that they are, and how that strong sense of place defines us. That message resonates with people of all ages, shapes and sizes, and they really do make great gifts, especially for the ‘displaced midwesterners.’ These folks are scattered across the country, but still long for the sense of home they still find right here. It’s an easy way to avoid the disappointing gift,” explains Steven Mansour, co-founder of the esteemed Great Lakes State Apparel brand.

“The bulk of our business is conducted online, but people still want to touch, and getting our products into the stores puts patrons in direct contact with the brand. It’s always better when you can hold the shirt, try it on and see how it looks,” adds Paul Marcial, the other co-founder of GLS. “My favorite part of this job is when I see someone out in public wearing one of our shirts, hats, socks or even an occasional Great Lakes State mug that says ‘yes, I am Detroitish’ or ‘this is MI Hood.’ That’s what GLS is about.”

As its slogan suggests, Carson’s is known for having “Better Brands & Bigger Savings.” The store offers doorbuster deals and coupons frequently throughout the year. You can find men’s and women’s clothing and shoes, handbags and accessories, jewelry and even furniture.

As the authority in Michigan and Detroit apparel, The Great Lakes State really fits the mold of Carson’s stores. Designs like ‘Detroit Pride’ carry a certain amount of character and class while making a fashionable statement. The beautiful blue logo-style design with a lion’s face comes in the form of a t-shirt, raglan or hoodie for both men and women to complement a myriad of outfits - as is consistent with all GLS apparel.

Carson’s has locations across Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana as well as other Bon-Ton owned stores across the nation. Of course, it's only appropriate that the GLS brand lives in The Great Lakes State.

Below are all the GLS products currently available in Carson’s:

  • MI Skull Tee
  • Buffalo Plaid Tee & Sweatshirt
  • MI Tourist Empire Tee
  • Detroit Pride Tee, Raglan and Hoodie
